Execution of the order to manufacture and import two capsules — mobile homes, from a manufacturer in Foshan, Guangdong to Bratislava.
The key advantage of custom manufacturing and product modification in China is not only the price, but also the relatively short lead time and low cost, as well as the wide selection of components, finishes and suppliers.
This is a modern form of housing, the entire structure is made of steel and aluminium, with smart home as standard.
The capsule required significant custom modifications, including the kitchen unit and certification of the electrical switchboard to European standards (CE).

Switchboard certification

The electrical switchboard had to be adapted to European standards. The specification from the Slovak electrician was translated into Chinese (a fluent Chinese speaker is part of the team). The work involved unifying the electrical wiring, circuit breakers, and splitting the circuits for three-phase current. Based on the specification, the manufacturer prepared the implementation, which was inspected and commented on at the factory.
Layout modification

Custom kitchen unit design to European standards, by a Slovak architect. The specification was then communicated to the Chinese team at the factory.
Factory inspection

Thorough inspection, signing of the handover protocol, preparation of photo documentation, recording and resolving of defects.
Transport — oversized cargo
The capsules were transported individually on two 40FR (flat-rack) containers, which is essentially just the frame of a standard 40-foot container.

All segments were arranged:
- local logistics from the factory to the port of Shekou, Shenzhen
- sea freight including booking with COSCO to the port of Koper in Slovenia
- road freight from Koper to Bratislava — oversized cargo, with a permit and escort
- customs clearance at the Cargo Port
- subsequent delivery and unloading directly on the plot in Petržalka, Bratislava
The sea freight took approximately 45 days, with a transhipment in Piraeus (Greece).
Shipping one 40FR container costs roughly 3x the price of a 40HQ container. Shipping lines often have limited capacity for oversized cargo, but thanks to contacts in China, transport can be arranged even during peak periods.
Unloading
A trained team of logistics specialists ensured smooth and professional unloading of the fragile cargo (a lot of glass), without damage.
If you are planning to import oversized cargo, get in touch for a detailed logistics plan and order execution. The same applies if you need to customise a product in China or commission a new product for manufacturing — assistance is gladly provided.
